A cookie is a small text file that the internet browser will save to the user’s device. Cookies are set on the user's terminal device only with the site called by the user. Only the server that sent the cookie can later read and use the cookie. Cookies or other technology do not harm the user’s terminal device or files, and cookies cannot be used for using software or spreading malware. The user cannot be identified by cookies only.
The cookies’ aim is the strengthening of analytics, marketing, and communications. Cookies are divided into sub-groups: functional cookies, product development and business reporting, advertisement reporting, and targeted advertisement.
In use are some necessary third-party implements and interfaces. These implements are for example the embedded social media, Google or video services, or the distribution and liking functions of different social media. For instance, these third-party interfaces can collect information about online service users for content recommendations or monitoring visitor count.
